In the process of researching architecture for our little space opera story, I was reminded of the existence of Friedensreich Hundertwasser , an Austrian architect whose name was so seriously impressive that no normal building could contain him. As a result, he became the champion of organic buildings, of the curve against the straight line.
Like Gaudi, his buildings feel a bit like coming home to me. I never understood our fetish for boxes-only architecture, and incorporating nature, landscape, and vegetation into our living and working spaces seems like something that would be beneficial to our enjoyment and the base median growth of yardcare professionals everywhere.
